The «Centre de la photographie» was founded in 1984 by a group of photographers in Geneva in order to defend photography as a fine art. Today the CPG exhibits all kind of productions, distributions and presentations of the contemporary photography focused on the domain of town planning, the documentary style and the critics of representation. The CPG produces an average of 6 to 7 exhibitions a year of which one hors les murs. In a three year cycle, the CPG is organizing the «50 Jours de la photographie in Geneva» in collaboration with the museums, art-centres, galleries and libraries.
