The city of Carouge has retained its Mediterranean-like atmosphere. Its bustling streets and many shaded squares invite one to stroll.

Plaine de Plainpalais

Flea MarketFlea Market

Bargain hunters, collectors, rummagers and curiosity seekers gather early on Wednesday and Saturday mornings between the rows of stalls on the Plaine de Plainpalais.

Professional dealers in antiques, curios or bric-a-brac are found side by side with occasional sellers proposing an endless range of objects from valuable "finds" to unusual, useless or worthless items.

Touring this fascinating world of the flea market is an uncommon pleasure.
