La Grange Park
Say it with roses… on these remarkable landscaped grounds of 12,000 m2 comprising one rosebush per square meter! Created in 1945-46, this rose garden boasts over 200 varieties exhibited in an exceptional architectural harmony: terraced flowerbeds between stone steps, decorated with pools and pergolas. Not to forget are the Roman foundations, dating from the beginning of our era. Also it is here that the annual international contest for new roses takes place. Did you know that each year, Geneva is embellished with 40,000 rosebushes to please the eye and scent, in its three rose gardens: La Grange Park, of course, but also the Promenade Gustave-Ador, skirting the lake’s left bank (the oldest and largest with 13,000 rosebushes along 1.5 km) and the Franchises Park.
